Administration is responsible for Human Resources, Finance as well as general administration. Their job is vitally important to our ability to provide services both our internally and externally as well as keeping us in line with statutory and regulatory requirements. Because of this the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority is committed to providing the best and brightest in our administration to ensure you, our line personnel, and our organization are afforded the highest  quality service.

 

Administrative Staff: Our administrative staff provides services to you as our customers when you come by the office or call. In addition, they provide administrative support for our Senior Staff, Fleet Services Facility, Warehouse, Tech Services, Prevention Division and our Board of Directors. They are also responsible for general records management, retention and reporting; as well as all Board Meetings, agendas, minutes and records management. Additionally, they are integral in processing annexations, fire protection contracts, legal requests and maintaining the Policy and Standard Operating Guideline manuals of the organization.

Human Resources: Our Human Resources staff conducts recruitment, hiring, retention and promotional practices for the District. Human Resources provides information on pay and benefits for employees and conducts periodic compensation studies in order to remain competitive with other districts, departments, and the local community. Human Resources is a vital component for administering employee benefits which include health/dental insurance, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), retirement planning, educational opportunities, career development, and leave time. They also assist with employee health and wellness issues, State Compensation injuries and resolutions. This section is instrumental in working through personnel issues, disciplinary systems, and addresses HR related legal issues.

Finance: Our Finance staff is responsible for the District’s financial management including budget development, asset management, general ledger, payroll, accounts receivable, procurement, bond implementation and oversight. Throughout the year staff monitors budget to actual reports, processes budget change requests, provides revenue and expenditure projections and communicates budget issues to the District in a timely manner. The financial section provides analysis and forecasts for budget decisions and long term planning. Internal control policies are followed which safeguard District assets. Additional revenue generation is explored through annexation into the District, Off-District contracts, Intergovernmental Agreements and other non-levy revenue sources. The finance section is also responsible for grant writing, audits, and inventory procedures and practices.
