Introduction
CAFMA staffs ten full-time stations and two reserve stations covering 369 square miles of Yavapai County. The following is a quick look at why we LOVE life in the Quad Cities (Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Prescott, and Dewey-Humboldt).
Whether you enjoy city life, country-livin’, or both, the Quad Cities are perfectly situated in the state of Arizona. Check out these drive times (each with their own scenic views and essential activities):
Prescott Regional Airport (PRC) – Ernest A. Love Field is located in Prescott and offers daily flights to Los Angeles and Denver, private aircraft flights, and flight training. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is only about a 1.5-hour drive.
Recreation
Yavapai County is home to the 1.25 million-acre Prescott National Forest, three national monuments (Montezuma Castle, Tuzigoot, and Agua Fria), and nineteen official wilderness areas. Here’s just a partial list of what the Yavapai has to offer: Hiking, camping, fishing, off-roading, golfing, mountain biking, swimming, target shooting, rock climbing, boating, photography, birding, hunting, kayaking, and horseback riding.
Did we mention that Prescott National Forest borders three other national forests?! If you have an appetite for nice weather, clean air, and the great outdoors, look no further!

Things to Do
We could write chapters on the amazing events taking place in Yavapai County, including the World’s Oldest Rodeo and Prescott Frontier Days, big name concerts and shows at Findlay Toyota Center (also home to Northern Arizona Wranglers football), wildlife experiences at the Heritage Park Zoo and Out of Africa, barn dances, obstacle courses, and fruit picking at Mortimer Farms, Whiskey Row nightlife, living history at the Sharlot Hall Museum, train rides through the canyon on the Verde Canyon Railroad, live horse racing at Arizona Downs, off-roading in Prescott National Forest, museums, farmer’s markets, movie theaters, libraries, art galleries, parks, train rides, golf courses, music and film festivals, helicopter tours, arcades, swimming, shopping, ice skating, picnicking, and MORE.
And let’s not forget, they don’t call Prescott ‘Arizona’s Christmas City’ for nothing!
Schools
There are a variety of schools and educational opportunities in the Quad Cities, from public to private, from charter to agribusiness and equine, and including concurrent transferable college courses and career and technical education for high school students.

Location, Location, Location
Whether you’re interested in the historic neighborhoods of Prescott, new modern construction, log cabins, luxury apartments, or the acreage of your dreams at the base of one of our beautiful mountains, there’s a home in the Quad Cities for everyone.
Feel the Love: Community Support
We’ll end the tour here with possibly the most important bit of info: CAFMA receives an enormous amount of encouragement and support from the communities we serve. Whether it’s hand-written thank you cards, donations, station visits, support for The Patriot Run (annual September Patriot Week fundraiser that benefits the Central Arizona Honor Guard, the ceremonial unit for CAFMA), or visiting with firefighters and staff at events like National Night Out, July 4th activities, and events hosted by the Firefighter Angel Foundation and local firefighter charities. We feel the love!
