Battalion 6 Chief, C-Shift

Chief Schuster started his fire service career in 2003 with the United States Forest Service as a wildland firefighter.  He transitioned to a structural firefighter/EMT and was hired in 2006 with Chino Valley Fire District.  Two years later he was promoted to Paramedic Engineer and in 2013 he was a Paramedic Captain.  In 2020 Chief Schuster was promoted to Battalion Chief with CAFMA.  Chief Schuster has obtained Associates Degrees in Fire Science and Paramedicine from Yavapai College.  Since 2013, he has been a Paramedic ACLS, BLS and PALS Instructor.  Through his 14 years with CVFD and CAFMA, Chief Schuster has had a strong involvement with the wildland program.  For the past five years he has been a Medical Unit Leader for a Type-Two Incident Management team for the Southwest Region.  Chief Schuster was born and raised in Chino Valley and still resides there with his wonderful wife Mary and daughter Sadie.
