Scott Freitag

FIRE CHIEF

Scott Freitag has served in emergency services since 1993, and currently serves as the Fire Chief for the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority. He started his career with an ambulance service in St. Louis, MO prior to working with the City of St. Charles Fire Department. He spent ten years with St. Charles before accepting the position of Assistant Chief of Operations for the Cottleville Fire Protection District in St. Charles County, MO. In 2013, he accepted the position of Fire Chief for the Chino Valley Fire District, and took over as Fire Chief of Central Yavapai Fire District under a Joint Management Agreement in July 2014. Chief Freitag and his team led the two agencies in creating the first Fire Authority in the State of Arizona. He has earned an Associate Degree in Fire Science, a Bachelor Degree in Mass Communications, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. In 2012, Chief Freitag earned his Executive Fire Officer Certification (EFO) as well as his Certified Fire Officer (CFO) designation.

Chief Freitag is a former adjunct professor with Lindenwood University, and currently serves as affiliate faculty with Northern Arizona University teaching Professional Standards and Ethics. He currently serves as the Vice President for the Arizona Fire Chief’s Association and is the incoming President for 2019. In addition, he serves as the Career Section Representative for the Arizona Fire District’s Association, and as an ex-officio board member for the Prescott Valley Economic Development Foundation.
